I’ve been exploring instrumental music lately. There are a few things to note about these tracks:
Each one of these is a collaboration with another artist. My general process started with getting raw material from the collaborator, re-sampling the hell out of some portion it with the intention of creating a whole new vibe while still respecting the qualities of the source material. After I’d built these basics, I’d have additional sessions with the collaborator to add finishing touches to the piece together.
My original intent was to create ambient material, and while I think these pieces have strong roots in that aesthetic, more distinct themes emerged as I worked on the pieces. They have more melody and direction than something I’d truly call ambient. I’ve always wanted to do soundtrack work but haven’t had an outlet, and I think that’s coming out here. I didn’t plan for them to end up this way, but I’m very glad they did.
Everything You Know Will Go Away album review
“Endless Atlas does a great job of straddling the barrier of futuristic electro-pop and retro callbacks that have this Pink Floydian Justin Vernon- meets- Brian Eno covering Tame Impala- sound that I believe [they] should be incredibly proud of. Despite having parallels to other artists, there is something utterly unique about this album that truly surprised me. This album is not for all, but it is an artistic composition that will take you on a journey and that has beckoned me to catch this artist live. I would recommend this to fans of Bon Iver, Why?, Death Cab for Cutie, Brian Eno, Brian Wilson... you get it.” - B-Side Magazine

Endless Atlas is the solo musical project of singer and multi-instrumentalist Dale Hiscock. Drawing influence from a wide range of genres, Endless Atlas produces songs that sound modern yet evocatively retro and cinematic in scope, with traces of Brian Eno, Bon Iver, Tame Impala, Death Cab For Cutie, Peter Gabriel and more.
Live performances feature songs recorded in loops on the fly, enabled by software built from scratch by Dale. Lyrically, the songs explore the meaning of living life against the backdrop of a world unravelling - dream pop for the end of the world.
